You’re intrigued by French immersion pedagogy and our immersive program, the Journée Intensive en Français (JIF)
– yes, seven hours of French, no escape!
You’ve landed on this page (which, let’s face it, is the best thing you’ve done all day).
Below, you’ll find helpful tips and suggestions to prepare yourself or your students for this exceptional experience.
Our program is endorsed by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF), including its Chicago and Northern Illinois chapter, and supported by the Alliance Française du North Shore.
We are graciously hosted by the University of Chicago Language Center.
Bienvenue et préparez-vous à parler français comme jamais auparavant!

Please Read the Following Policy:
Our organization has always prioritized active participation from diverse high school and college students, as well as teachers, in our immersion day activities. We typically accept up to 12 students per teacher or school to ensure that each student benefits from personalized attention. If a school has more students interested, the additional students will be placed on a waiting list. Openings often become available in the week leading up to the immersion, at which point students on the waiting list will be contacted and may be offered a spot, even just days before the event.
